EL'EGANT, adjective [Latin elegans.] Polished; polite; refined; graceful; pleasing to good taste; as elegant manners.
1. Polished, neat; pure; rich in expressions; correct in arrangement; as anelegant style or composition.
2. Uttering or delivering elegant language with propriety and grace; as anelegant speaker.
4. Nice; sensible to beauty; discriminating beauty from deformity or imperfection; as an elegant taste. [This is a loose application of the word;elegant being used for delicate.]

Looking at the dictionary definition of elegance we can certainly see that our society is lacking in about all of these. Few people are polished and polite, refined and graceful - elegant manners, not these days!! Elegant speech - hmm, hardly ever do we hear anything that could be called elegant speech. Discriminating beauty from deformity or imperfection - well, considering that most of society likes to be entertained by the gross, violence, immodesty and immorality, methinks nobody knows what is beautiful or in elegant taste any more!!
Philippians 4.8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
The things we fill our minds with are the things we think upon and the things we think upon are what we become!!
How does one go about starting a new blog.......Shall I start by giving my reason for the title, maybe?
Our society seems to be slipping further and further down a slope, the end result of which I shudder to try and picture. What am I talking about - sloppiness!!, beyond casual, totally lacking dignity. That people feel comfortable appearing in public in leggings and vests no longer leaves people horrified; and that is a trend I'm fighting......I hope you will join me in making the world a more elegant place again.
